Cookie Policy
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the website to work; others are optional and are only set if you agree. Similar technologies – for example a script that loads content from another company's server – are covered by this policy too.
We use only the cookies listed below. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Your choice in the cookie banner
When you first visit our website, a banner asks for your choice:
- "Only essentials" – we set only the essential cookies needed for the website to work.
- "I agree" – we also allow the optional cookies listed below, including those of our affiliate partners, and load embedded content from third parties such as Google Maps.
Until you click "I agree", optional cookies are not set and embedded third-party content is blocked. The banner does not let you choose individual optional cookies; you can accept or refuse them as a group. You can change your choice at any time – see "How to change or withdraw your consent" below.
Essential cookies
These cookies are needed to provide the website and the services you request – for example to keep your ticket selection in the cart, to complete a payment securely, or to remember your language. They do not require your consent. Our legal basis for the related processing of personal data is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| session_id | Viento (Odoo) | Keeps your browsing session, cart and checkout, and protects against misuse | 7 days after your last activity [doğrulanmalı – Odoo varsayılanı; sessions.max_inactivity_seconds değiştirildiyse güncellenir] |
| frontend_lang | Viento (Odoo) | Remembers the language you have chosen | 1 year |
Optional cookies – preferences and statistics
These are set only after you click "I agree". Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| odoo_utm_campaign, odoo_utm_source, odoo_utm_medium | Viento (Odoo) | Records which campaign link brought you to our website – only if you arrive through a link containing such campaign information | 31 days |
Optional cookies – marketing (affiliate partners)
Our destination guides contain affiliate links and may contain content from booking platforms (see our Terms and Conditions, Part F). Cookies in this category allow a booking platform or its affiliate network to recognise that a booking came through our website, so that we can receive a commission. They are set only after you click "I agree". Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
When you click an affiliate link. An affiliate link is a normal link containing a code that identifies us. We do not set any cookie when you click it. When you arrive on the platform's website, the platform or its affiliate network may set its own cookies there; this is governed by that company's cookie policy and its own consent request, not by our cookie banner.
Third-party content and services
| Service | Status | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) | Optional – loaded only after "I agree" | Google receives at least your IP address and the address of the page and may set cookies (for example NID; duration set by Google – see policies.google.com/technologies/cookies). Google may transfer data to the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. If you do not want to load the map, our address is on the Contact page. |
| Booking platforms (affiliate content) | Optional – loaded only after "I agree" | See "Optional cookies – marketing (affiliate partners)" above. |
How to change or withdraw your consent
You can change the choice you made in our cookie banner at any time, and withdrawing your consent is as easy as giving it. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of anything done on the basis of your consent before you withdrew it.
Option 1 – reopen the cookie banner on this page. While you are on this Cookie Policy page, a small round button labelled "Show the cookies bar" appears at the bottom of the screen. Click it to bring the banner back, then choose "Only essentials" to withdraw your consent to optional cookies, or "I agree" to give it. Your new choice applies immediately.
Option 2 – delete our cookies in your browser. Your choice is stored in a cookie named website_cookies_bar on www.vientotravel.com. If you delete the cookies this website has stored on your device – in your browser settings, usually under "Privacy", "Cookies and site data" or "Clear browsing data" – and then reload the website, the banner appears again and you can make a new choice.
What withdrawing does, and what it does not do. When you choose "Only essentials", we stop allowing optional cookies, and embedded third-party content such as Google Maps and affiliate offers is blocked again. Withdrawing does not by itself delete cookies that were already stored on your device while your consent applied – including cookies that Google or an affiliate partner set on their own domains. To remove those, delete the cookies in your browser as described in Option 2, including those of the third-party domains concerned. You can also set your browser to refuse or delete cookies in general; essential cookies are needed for the website to work, so blocking all cookies may prevent you from booking or paying.
